Dr. A. V. Kannan is trained under industry experts for cardiac anaesthesia at Madras Medical Mission. Dr Kannan is credited for helping establish the first cardiac centre on par with the international standards medical college in Dhaka, Bangladesh. During his stint at Aster MIMS, Calicut, he helped establish the first successful cardiac centre in North Kerala.
